After talking a little with Ken about it, I've decided that MakeMaker should shed its auxillary modules.

Here they are.

• ExtUtils::Command

• ExtUtils::Install

• ExtUtils::Installed

• ExtUtils::Manifest and lib/ExtUtils/MANIFEST.SKIP

• ExtUtils::Mkbootstrap

• ExtUtils::Mksymlists

• ExtUtils::Packlist

If there's anything missing, add it and say why. Interesting functions inside MakeMaker that could be made independent is also up for grabs.

This is pretty much a "first-work, first-served" situation. Prospective maintainers will be expected to show their interest and ability to do actual work by doing the following.

1. Pulling the module and its tests out of MakeMaker and rolling up their own distribution.
2. Making a non-trivial patch. See MakeMaker's rt.cpan.org queue for inspiration.

Contact MichaelSchwern when that's done or if you need help. Then we can work on preserving the version history in your new repository.
